About CBFM

Cape Breton Farmers' Market (CBFM) aims to facilitate economic growth and sustainability for local food and craft producers to allow more people to live, work and grow in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM).

We are a not-for-profit co-operative that has been in operation for almost thirty years, evolving from an outdoor seasonal market to a year-round indoor market that attracts over a thousand visitors weekly from all over the island.

Being the largest market of its kind servicing producers and customers in Cape Breton, we are home to approximately 30 full-time vendors and many more part-time or casual vendors, including produce, meat & egg farmers, food & beverage producers, apiarists, cooks, bakers, herbalists, jewelers, wood-workers, and many more artisans and crafters.

Cape Breton Farmers’ Market aims to promote, support, and enhance the development of the local food/artisan industry, while promoting sustainability, healthy eating, and community.

support, fundraising & events

We offer vendor space for charitable organizations or for anyone wanting to put on a demonstration for children, youth or adults.  Fundraising and events are a big part of how we connect to the community.
